Dataset Abstract

This dataset provides information about the Tracer NILEx plot ID for all three subexperiments (litter, wood and root decomposition) and their location within the experimental site

Dataset Design

3 blocks with a total of 108 plots (36 for every subproject), 4 sampling timesteps for leaf and root decomposition experiments, 2 sampling timesteps for wood decomposition. Further information will be provided in the respective Tracer NILEx subexperiment datasets

Taxonomic Extent

1) Leaf litter decomposition plots: 15N an Li labelled and unlabelled leaves of Sapindus saponaria, Schima superba, Quercus acutissima. The trees were transplanted to a field near site B from a nursery in Dexing in spring 2011. The senescend leaves were collected in autumn 2011+ three different Carex phytometer plants. 2) Wood decomposition plots: Stem pieces of Schima superba and Pinus massoniana + 15N an Li labelled and unlabelled leaves of Sapindus saponaria, Schima superba, Quercus acutissima. 3) Root decomposition plots: 15N an Li labelled and unlabelled roots of Sapindus saponaria, Schima superba, Quercus acutissima + three different Carex phytometer plants.
