Dataset Abstract

Leaf traits and chemicals from tree species in the Main Experimental sites, including secondary compound (total phenolic and tannin concentrations) and information on stomata.

Dataset Design

Leaf samples were taken from sun-exposed branches with an expandable pruner. Only completely developed leaves were sampled, without visible herbivore damage and preferably free of leaf fungi.

CAUTION: It seems that there has been a systematic error (maybe in the methodology?) in assessing some specific leaf traits (e.g. SLA) between the samples collected by W.Kröber and D.Eichenberg. Please bare this in mind!
